Top-class alcohol-free wines to discover
Going without alcohol no longer means going without pleasure. Modern dealcoholisation methods, usually gentle vacuum distillation, preserve the aromas and structure of the original wine with astonishing precision – the result is alcohol-free wines that can do far more than the reputation they often still carry. Whether a sparkling alcohol-free Sekt for a toast, a fruity white for a summer evening or an alcohol-free red with soft tannins for dinner – the choice has come a long way in recent years. Important for full enjoyment: alcohol-free wines respond to the right temperature too. Whites and sparkling wines well chilled at 6–8 °C, reds a little warmer at around 12–14 °C – that is how fruit and aromatics unfold best.
