Color:

Aroma (Nose):

The bouquet is immediately inviting and characterized by remarkable purity. The first wave reveals sweet heather honey notes and fresh malt. Immediately thereafter, a fruity freshness unfolds, reminiscent of ripe pears, yellow apples, and a hint of pineapple. Winemaking & Craft – The Art of Slow Distillation

The Process:

Distillation at Cardhu takes place in swan-neck copper pot stills. They take their time here: slow distillation promotes contact between the alcohol vapor and the copper, which eliminates undesirable sulfur compounds and isolates fruity, light esters. The result is an extremely pure and elegant spirit.

Maturation:

The 12-year-old Cardhu matures predominantly in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. These casks impart the whisky's golden color and characteristic vanilla and toffee aromas, without masking the delicate fruitiness of the underlying distillate. A small proportion is aged in sherry casks to give the blend an additional dimension of richness.
