The fresh Portuguese STR Barrique (a red wine cask specially reconditioned) is the counterpoint to the Bourbon Cask. These STR casks, for which Kingsbarns Distillery is known, have a particularly fruity-spicy character and are also used in Kingsbarns "Dream to Dram" (10% share).
Tasting Notes
"Heavy, nutty and spicy with clove and gingerbread spice. On the palate, hazelnut, toasted almond, plum with ginger and red grapes. In the finish, mouth-filling with creamy toffee notes."
