For Second Crop, first-fill bourbon barrels stored higher up in the warehouse were used. Exposed to more heat and thus more intense maturation, the single malt shows a clear change in taste: sweet red apple and ripe pear are followed by notes of vanilla pods and almond oil, leading to a fresh, pine forest-tasting finish.
