Salmon-coloured with a violet shimmer and a bouquet of red fruits – this Rosé Sekt Brut combines the craftsmanship of bottle fermentation (Méthode Traditionnelle) with a round, slightly sweet finish that makes it accessible to newcomers, too.
Taste
Colour: Salmon-coloured with violet reflections.
Nose: Intense and fine, with a scent of red fruits.
Palate: A round, soft sparkling wine – on the finish, aromas of red fruits unfold, accompanied by a pleasant, slightly sweet piquancy.
Production
Like its white counterpart, this rosé also undergoes its second fermentation directly in the bottle (Méthode Traditionnelle) – the same elaborate process that also defines Champagne. Several trade sources trace it back to the red grape variety Pinot Noir, grown in the Jura in eastern France; the rosé colour typically comes from brief skin contact (maceration) of the red grapes before pressing. As a non-vintage cuvée (NV, no vintage stated), it is already ready to drink.
Pairs with
As an aperitif, with savoury finger food, light starters or as a surprising companion to a truffle risotto – its fruity sweetness also makes it an interesting match for desserts.
In rosé, too, François Montand stays true to its positioning: the classic Champagne method, but at a price that allows for uncomplicated enjoyment. The fruity, slightly sweet note makes this version particularly accessible to anyone who is not (yet) used to dry Brut styles – a good entry point into the world of Méthode Traditionnelle.
