With its warm golden shimmer, our 21-year-old is inviting, creamy, and offers incredible complexity. The maritime influences that emerge in this single malt take you on a journey to its home, Campbeltown.
Nose: Notes of dark berries, fruitcake, ginger, and honey offer a warm introduction to this dram. A leathery note, reminiscent of old library books, develops over time.
Palate: The familiar coastal influence is evident on the palate. Soft and delicate, with immediate notes of salted caramel, sticky gingerbread, and red berry cheesecake.
Finish: Long, soft finish with notes of biscuits and Muscovado sugar.
Distillery Information:
In Campbeltown, in the southern part of the Kintyre peninsula, whisky was distilled as early as the earliest times. The oldest evidence dates back to 1591. The Springbank distillery consists not only of the original building from 1828, but also parts of the former distilleries Longrow, Rieclachen, Union, Springside, and Argyll. It is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that is still run by the original family (Mitchell). The current owner, Mr. Hedley G. Wright, is a direct descendant of the Mitchell family. Unlike other single malts, Springbank is distilled two and a half times.
