Chardonnay is said to give Champagne its minerality, Pinot Noir its gentle power, Meunier its roundness – with Tsarine Blanc de Blancs, everything is focused on just one of these three pillars.

The House

Tsarine was born at the house of Chanoine Frères, a Champagne trading house in Reims with roots going back to the 18th century. The distinctive, curved "Torsadé" bottle is a tribute to the historic, privileged relationships between Chanoine and the noble courts of Europe. The name itself honours Tsarina Anna Ivanovna, who once brought Champagne to the Russian court, where under Catherine the Great it became an integral part of courtly banquets.

The Wine

This cuvée is made from 100% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs. The dosage is 5 g/l – finely calibrated for the perfect balance between sweetness and freshness.

Tasting Note

Pale gold robe with light emerald reflections, fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, initially fresh, floral notes of linden and hawthorn, accompanied by candied lemon, which give way to subtle toasty notes. On the palate, a ripe, pure character with white fruit and citrus, underpinned by a texture that hints at minerality.
