Anyone who wants to discover the stylistic range of Planteray at a glance is perfectly served by this Tasting Box. As is typical of the house, each of the six rums first matures in its country of origin and then undergoes a second maturation and refinement in the cellars of the French Cognac house Ferrand.

1. Planteray 3 Stars White Rum, 41.2% vol., 0.10 l
A lively white blend that unites rums from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad – the elegance of the latter two islands meets the spicy expressiveness of Jamaica.
Nose: intense tropical fruit aromas over a base of brown cane sugar
Palate: a soft attack, accompanied by spicy and floral notes and creamy vanilla
Finish: short, marked by cane sugar and vanilla pod

2. Planteray Trinidad Original Dark Rum, 40% vol., 0.10 l
A marriage of two characters: a Jamaican rum provides the power, a rum from Trinidad & Tobago the creaminess. After maturing in the Caribbean, the rums are blended at Château de Bonbonnet, followed by a finish in Cognac casks.
Nose: opulent fruit notes – cocoa, raisins, vanilla – underpinned by subtle spice
Palate: dense and soft, with caramel, Bourbon vanilla, bitter chocolate, bold spices and tropical fruit
Finish: rather short, creamy and spicy

3. Planteray Grande Reserve, 40% vol., 0.10 l
Like its better-known "brother", the XO 20th Anniversary, this rum also comes from Barbados. After maturing in the Caribbean climate, it is shipped to France and aged further there in former Cognac casks.
Nose: leather and spice, with exotic fruit, molasses and oak
Palate: mild and sweet, with fruit, caramel cream, almonds, nuts, roasted aromas and oak
Finish: long and warm, with notes of honey and piquant spice

4. Planteray Gran Anejo Guatemala & Belize, 42% vol., 0.10 l
An extra-aged Central American rum from Guatemala and Belize that combines finesse with freshness.
Nose: vanilla, green pear and apple, with a touch of coconut milk, beeswax and oak shavings
Palate: silky, creamy and fruity, with autumn fruit and spicy wood
Finish: long, fruity and fresh

5. Planteray Barbados XO 20th Anniversary, 40% vol., 0.10 l
The classic of the range: a blend of rums with at least 13 years of ageing, all from Barbados.
Nose: subtle fruit beneath a layer of caramel toffee and lightly toasted oak
Palate: a velvety, silky texture with cane sugar, ripe banana, candied coconut, cocoa, orange peel and Bourbon vanilla
Finish: very long and silky, carrying the full spectrum of aromas right to the end

6. Planteray XAYMACA Special Dry Rum, 43% vol., 0.10 l
A genuine Special Dry from Jamaica for lovers of spicy, dry rums.
Nose: banana, pineapple and ester notes, framed by smoky spices
