DESCRIPTION
Château Las Cases, produced under the appellation "Grand Vin de Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases", traditionally creates a wine with a strong personality. Owned by Jean-Hubert Delon for over 30 years, Léoville Las Cases boasts an exceptional terroir where a truly great and particularly fine St. Julien is produced, capable of competing with certain Premiers Crus.
DEVELOPMENT
Made from a selection of the best grapes, strictly hand-picked according to parcel and grape variety.
The 2017 Château Léoville Las Cases, St. Julien 2ème Cru Classé, is aged in oak barrels.
The vintage contains 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Merlot.
TASTING NOTES
Concentrated aroma of ripe sour cherries, raspberries, and violets. In the second approach, with beautiful blueberry contours, followed by cranberry jam, liquorice, and candied notes. On the linear palate, with perfectly supportive, ripe tannins, leading to a long-lasting finish, which resonates with notes of red fruit compote.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve at 16-18 °C with game dishes, beef goulash, red meat, and strong cheeses.
