The 2018 Château Peby Faugeres, made from 100% Merlot, presents this year with an extremely dense and beautiful palate of ripe fruits, an underlying minerality, and ripe tannins.
Taste:
The 2018 Château Peby Faugeres has a deep garnet-purple color and offers notes of blueberry pie, plum preserves, chocolate-covered cherries, and mulberries from the glass. Full-bodied, taut, and muscular, the palate has a firm structure of velvety tannins and wonderful freshness. The finish is very long with many mineral effects.
Production:
For winemaking, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place classically over 25-28 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in the barrel and ages for 14-16 months in new French oak.
Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry, and strong cheese.
