Château Troplong Mondot was among the first clients of oenologist Michel Rolland. The vineyards cover 30 hectares, planted with Merlot (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), and Cabernet Franc (5%). This extremely long-lived red wine is aged for 12 to 24 months in 75% new barriques.
Taste:
The 2018 Château Troplong Mondot has a deep garnet-red color. On the nose, it slowly reveals powerful black raspberries, ripe black plums, fresh blackberries, and cherries with subtle undertones of tobacco, wild sage, truffles, and hints of gravel and iron ore. Full-bodied, firm, and muscular, the palate boasts a solid structure of velvety tannins and wonderful freshness. The finish is long with many mineral effects.
Production:
The entire harvest was carried out by hand. The hand-picked grapes were carefully sorted. Fermentation took place over 25-28 days in a classic manner in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged in French oak barrels and matured for 12-24 months before bottling.

Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry, and spicy cheese.
