Macerated raspberries combine with wild roses and crushed chalk in this impressive wine, which captivates from the very first sniff.

Taste:
On the palate, mixed cherries dusted with anise, licorice, and piquant herbs lead to a long finish with super-fine tannins, which I wish would never end. 97/100

Vineyards:
From our family-owned vineyards since the 2015 vintage, from our winery in Monforte (Mosconi). This wine has always been traditionally produced by our family from grapes of the Barolo appellation. This is the classic "formula" used by the old Barolo families to produce a wine that combines the unique characteristics of the different vineyards and terroirs of the Barolo area.

Wine production: In stainless steel; skin contact and maceration for approx. 25-30 days. AGING: In oak "botti" for approx. 30 months; a small amount in French oak.

Tasting: A classic Barolo. Excellent structure, harmony, and elegance. Soft tannins and balanced fruit. Accessible, but with very long aging potential. Barolo is a great wine that, because it has no additional indication on the label, should not simply be referred to as "basic" or "normal" Barolo. Since 1881, the winery founded by Pio Cesare has stood for the highest quality and tradition in the production of the famous wines from the Langhe region near Alba. Pio Cesare was one of the very first wine producers to believe in the potential and quality of Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera and in the possibilities of Piedmont. Since the mid-19th century, Pio Cesare has been one of the top addresses in Piedmont.
