The Clos de L'Oratoire winery is located in the Bordeaux appellation of Saint-Emilion. The approximately 13 hectares of vineyards are situated on a hill northeast of the municipality of Saint-Emilion. The soils are characterized by Fronsac molasse, limestone, and clay.
Description:
For Clos de l'Oratoire, the experienced winemakers select four grape varieties. However, Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre do not come together immediately after harvesting. The cellar master processes the fruits separately according to plots, ripeness levels, and grape varieties, giving each exactly what it needs.
Color:
A sensually shimmering style with colors of ruby red, purple, and violet, and dark amber.
Nose:
Fruity aromas of subtly restrained cherry fruit, and after some air contact, forest berries and delicate rose petals.
Taste:
Lively, subtle acidity with an herbal grip. Cherry and forest berry come together again here. A hint of mint and rose is added. The finish is intense and balanced.
Serving suggestion:
Excellent with beef and game dishes.
