Château de Beaucastel "Châteauneuf du Pape" red wine has long been considered one of the greatest wines in France. It is known for its elegance, balance, and high aging potential. Beaucastel is an exceptional terroir, exposed to the Mistral wind, on the northern border of the "Châteauneuf du Pape" appellation. All thirteen varieties of the appellation have been organically grown since the sixties.
DESCRIPTION
Château de Beaucastel has long been considered one of the greatest wines in France. It is known for its elegance, balance, and aging potential. Beaucastel has an exceptional terroir on the northern border of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, exposed to the Mistral winds. All thirteen varieties of the appellation have been organically grown since the sixties.
DEVELOPMENT
Each variety is harvested individually and by hand. Vinification takes place in oak barrels for reductive varieties (Mourvèdre, Syrah) and in traditional concrete tanks for oxidative grapes (all others). Once malolactic fermentation is complete, the Perrin family blends the different varieties. The blend then matures in oak barrels for one year before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
The grapes ripened slowly, and during vinification, they remained on the pomace for a long time, resulting in intense yet full-bodied and harmonious wines. The 2017 vintage presents wines full of fruit and balance, with delicate and silky tannins and plenty of volume.
SERVICE
Around 15°C. If possible, decant the wine.
