Description:
The Château Nénin brings fresh notes of plum and concentrated aromas of dark berries. Slight hints of dark, high-percentage chocolate and nuts round off the wine. Thanks to its lively tannins, the body has a beautiful structure. Long, fruity finish. A great wine with a high "refill factor".

About the winery:
Surrounded by its charming castle park and about 25 hectares of vineyards, Château Nénin is less than five minutes' drive from illustrious neighbors such as Château Le Pin, L'Évangile, and Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emilion. Since 1997, the Pomerol-Château Nénin has been owned by the Delon family (also owners of Château Potensac, Médoc, and Léoville-Las Cases, Saint-Julien). In September, shortly before the harvest, Jean-Hubert Delon bought the winery from the Despujol family, in fact, his cousin's family, who had owned the château since the early 19th century. In a way, Delon thus ensured the continuity of family ownership...

More important then, as now, was quality. With the help of the immediately implemented renovation and conversion work, the Château was to regain its place in the top ranks. And Delon's efforts soon bore fruit. Château Nénin, once the court wine of the British royal family, once again received national and international awards (Guide Hachette, Decanter, Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate etc.). Delon's viticultural philosophy, however, is the same for all his wineries: a great wine must always be an ambassador of its origin, its terroir.

Where Léoville-Las Cases always expresses an elegant Saint-Julien, where Potensac remains an unmistakable reflection of the Médoc, Nénin must show the elegance and juicy fullness and longevity of a great Pomerol - a wine intended as a food companion that preserves its ripe, fresh fruit for a lifetime. A key element is acidity. Perfectly balanced, it guarantees both aging potential and freshness. But ultimately, everything must fit together: the powerful tannin, the alcohol, the delicately smoky roasted notes of barrel aging. Nothing should overpower the varietal fruit; everything should blend harmoniously.

This fine balance, longevity, and unmistakable terroir character are the main features of the Delon wines. Healthy, optimally ripened grapes, careful vinification and blending of the wines, precisely coordinated barrel aging... every step, every tiny detail serves the goal of expressing the best that nature, terroir, and vintage offer in the wine. Year after year, with the same highest standards. Oenologically advised by the omnipresent Michel Rolland, Jean-Hubert and Michel Delon now produce two wines at Château Nénin: the château wine 'Château Nénin' and the second wine 'Fugue de Nénin'.
