Origins
A careful selection of distillates from the unique terroir of Barbados. The Master Blender's intention is to present the typicality of this terroir in perfect balance, thanks to the richness and intensity of molasses distillation in pot stills, combined with the finesse and lightness of sugar cane distillation in columns.
Aging
The selected rums mature mainly for 3 years in American white oak barrels that previously contained Bourbon. The maturation takes place in Barbados, utilizing the heat and specific hygrometry of the island, which give the future rum a unique oxidation, accelerate maturity, and concentrate the aromas.
Blending
The aged rums now travel across the ocean to France to be blended by Cognac Master Jérôme Tessendier. His intention is to reveal the character of the Barbados terroir thanks to a unique technique, by blending the different batches according to their various aromatic profiles: floral, fruity and spicy.
Processing
The blend then rests for a total of 24 months in mature French oak casks of medium grain in Jarnac (France) to extract lightly roasted and spicy aromas. As a final refinement, the rum is finished in fine-grain French oak casks to create a delicious and harmonious finish. The rum is then gradually reduced to 46%. No sugar is added.
Tasting notes
The nose opens with aromas of banana and roasted mango, refined by subtly spicy vanilla. On the palate, it is delicate and round. A powerful and long-lasting finish makes this rum a great experience.
