The Bladnoch Distillery is delighted to announce the newest addition to its “Classic Collection” of Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. For the first time since Bladnoch's rebirth under David Prior, we are introducing a peated whisky to our range, which we have named “Alinta”.
PEATED RELEASE
Nose: Smoky ice, delicately floral with sweet oak
Taste: Campfire smoke, almonds, raisins with a body of white chocolate
Finish: Long with sweet smoke
Bladnoch "Alinta" is a heavily peated distillate from 2009 (still produced under the previous owners), matured in First Fill Bourbon casks, as well as heavily peated distillate from the new production (since 2017), matured in First Fill PX Sherry casks. Bottled naturally without added colouring and without chill-filtration, at an ABV of 47%.
We would like to mention that the 2009 components of "Alinta" are truly special. On the one hand, they were produced with the old distillery equipment, and on the other hand, this only happened once. The former owners of Bladnoch distilled only one batch of heavily peated malt in 2009, making it a true rarity. In combination with the new distillate, matured in PX casks, the result is an impressive and multifaceted dram.
