It is the non-vintage wines – so no millésimes – that define the reputation of a Champagne house. The House of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin has therefore dedicated itself to the motto "quality over quantity" of its founder when creating its Champagne, to guarantee excellent quality. True to this guiding principle, a balanced Champagne is created, dominated by Pinot Noir and typical of Veuve Clicquot, complemented by the elegance of Chardonnay and rounded off by Pinot Meunier.

The Cuvée
The Veuve Clicquot Brut perfectly expresses the character of the vineyards and the continuity of the Veuve Clicquot style. Strongly influenced by Pinot Noir, this wine is characterized by an excellent structure, a typical stylistic feature of the wines of this house. Chardonnay gives it its elegance and finesse, which are necessary for perfect balance; the small addition of Pinot Meunier completes the composition. The Brut Carte Jaune is a wine of the highest quality, with a large proportion (80%) of Grands and Premiers Crus. Around 50 to 60 different Crus go into the blend, as well as 25% - 35%, sometimes even up to 40% of wines from other vintages (vins de réserve). These reserve wines, the oldest of which are up to 9 years old, are stored separately so that the special characteristics of the sites and harvest years are preserved. This allows the typical Veuve Clicquot style to be maintained year after year.

The composition of the Cuvée:

    50% to 55% Pinot Noir
    15% to 20% Pinot Meunier
    28% to 33% Chardonnay

Tasting profile
The Veuve Clicquot Brut captivates with its beautiful, shimmering golden yellow color. It is powerful and pleasant on the nose, where it first develops fruity nuances (white fruits and baked fruit), which then gradually transition into vanilla and brioche notes. This creates a perfect harmony between the natural aromatic nuances of the grape varieties (fruit aromas) and the nuances that develop during bottle aging (pastry notes). The lively, dynamic attack in the mouth gradually gives way to a fruity harmony. This Champagne undoubtedly belongs to the category of well-structured Bruts with a confident wine character. Furthermore, it impresses with its remarkable finish, where fruity and spicy components are in balance.

Food pairing
Thanks to the optimal balance between finesse and power, Veuve Clicquot Brut is excellent as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood and fish.
