For the first time in 20 years, Ardbeg introduced a new, limited-edition, age-stated bottling in 2019 (the first after Ardbeg TEN), which is produced in an annually changing small series (batch). This year, Traigh Bhan Batch 2 also impresses with striking and contrasting characteristics. The bottling, named after the "singing sands" on Islay's south coast, matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks.

Every batch of Traigh Bhan is a collector's item, as the whisky will change slightly from batch to batch.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Pale gold
Nose: Gentle aromas of sweet wood smoke and crème fraîche tart with strong notes of spicy fennel, celery, and toasted tea leaves. This is followed by alluring notes of charcoal and slightly burnt toast. A splash of water releases a hint of fresh sea spray, followed by eucalyptus oil and pine. Finally, this irresistible nose concludes with a distinctive top note of saddle soap and leather.
Palate: An intensely salty mouthfeel transitions into soothing notes, followed by salted peanut brittle, smoked pineapple, and lime juice. Notes of anise wash over the palate before rich fudge, birch tar, and peat smoke emerge.
Finish: Hearty and smoky notes meet in a powerful, intense, and long-lasting finish.
