The 50-year-old Maltman Blended Scotch from a single cask spent its first years marrying in Bourbon wood before being transferred into a Sherry Butt.
The result is a symphony of the finest aromas such as vanilla, mango and even a hint of charcoal on the nose, followed by dried fruits, creamy toffee and nut on the palate.
The cask yielded a total of 540 individually numbered bottles at full Cask Strength of just 44.9%.
Nose: As we awaken this rare old whisky from its long, gentle slumber, we find some aromas of vanilla caramel and mango with a hint of charcoal.
Palate: The palate is creamy with dried fruits, toffee and a hint of lychee.
Finish: Smooth and warming. If allowed to breathe, nutty notes with toasted oak and sherry emerge.
