The MOILLARD GRIVOT Pommard Premier Cru Les Epenots 2018 is a first-class Pinot Noir from the renowned vineyards of Pommard, located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. With a deep red color and a complex bouquet of raspberries, faded roses, licorice, and coffee, this wine promises an unforgettable taste experience.
Vinification & Aging:
This Premier Cru is traditionally vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. Before fermentation, a cold maceration intensifies the aromas. During fermentation, the wine is extracted through pigeage (punching down the cap) and pumping over to obtain the best aromas and tannins. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels (40% new oak and 60% used barrels from the Vosges region).
Taste & Characteristics:
On the palate, the Pommard Premier Cru Les Epenots 2018 shows a rich, generous structure with an elegant, long finish. The well-integrated tannins and fine acidity offer great aging potential. The wine is perfect for cellaring for the next 10 years.
Recommended Serving Temperature:
Serve at 15-17°C.
Food Pairings:
Perfect with grilled beef, lamb, poultry stews, and strong cheeses such as Epoisses, Langres, Soumaintrain, Livarot, and Pont-l’Evêque.
