A 12-year-old Scotch Single Malt Whisky from the Linkwood Distillery.
Whisky and wine are both luxury goods with rich cultures and ancient traditions. There are clear differences, but also many commonalities. And it is precisely in the details, in the careful selection of casks and maturation, that it becomes clear how both worlds can be excellently combined. With our Linkwood, this can be clearly 'tasted': the distillate and the influence of the Red Wine Barrique remain balanced despite full maturation, the aroma profile appears multifaceted, harmonious... and makes you want more!
Nose: Vanilla, raisins soaked in wine, spices, warm apple compote, peaches, oranges and honey, followed by the scent of fresh vanilla crescents
Palate: soft & oily on the attack, with spicy red wine notes and orange marmalade, which are replaced by a pleasant pepperiness. Then we are greeted by a full load of cherries and dark berries, rounded off by cinnamon notes and oak spice
Finish: medium-long, slightly astringent red wine aromas turn into cocoa powder and spices, pleasant dryness ending in wood and tea leaves
