Nose: A plethora of fresh garden fruits, apples, zesty oranges, and "pear drop" candies. Some brown sugar, toffee, and vanilla fudge in the background.
Palate: Rich and sweet with burnt caramel and hazelnuts. Still plenty of fruit in the form of
fruit compote, along with toasted oats, cinnamon, and cloves.
Finish: Medium length with fresh fruits, grain sweetness, and a light spice.
The independent Scottish Lochlea Distillery is launching its first Single Malt. The First Release from Production Manager and Master Blender John Campbell (formerly Laphroaig) is a limited edition of 7,000 bottles worldwide. The whisky was distilled exclusively from barley grown by the farm distillery itself – a rarity in the industry.
