Description:
This dry 2023 Spätburgunder red wine from barrique barrels impresses with its notes of freshly brewed mocha and its fruity Pinot nose. It is an excellent choice, especially for lovers of powerful dry wines. The typical bouquet of Spätburgunder of cherry and blueberries is supported by subtle vanilla notes and a full-bodied barrique note. This red wine is best enjoyed lightly chilled at 14 - 17 degrees.
Terroir/Climate:
The fertile growing region in the Upper Rhine Plain offers excellent conditions for viticulture. Protected on both sides by the Black Forest massif and the Vosges mountains from harsh easterly winds, the climate here is almost Mediterranean. The volcanic rock in the soil, covered with a loess-loam layer, does the rest to provide an optimal home for the grapes grown here.
Amidst this paradise for winegrowers, the municipality of Ihringen is located on the southwest slope of the Kaiserstuhl. Ihringen, with its district Wasenweiler, is home to one of the largest local winegrowers' cooperatives and numerous other renowned wineries. We are a proud part of this unique wine-growing region and are delighted to bring you closer to the tradition and culture of our area with our wines.
