The 2018 vintage of Château d’Issan is a classic, elegant 3rd Grand Cru that has a lot to offer. After a long dry spell, Château d’Issan, under its new owner Emmanuel Cruse, has been one of the best estates in Margaux again since 1995. The harvest took place from September 24 to October 11. The Grand Vin was made from 53% of the harvest.
Taste:
The Château d’Issan 2018 has a deep garnet-red color with violet reflections. Intense on the nose with aromas of cherry blossoms, smoke, forest floor, licorice and blackberries. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, round, sweet, juicy and only slightly spicy. The vitality is felt in the ripe red plums and black currants that emphasize the finish.
Production:
Château d’Issan 2018 was produced with the greatest respect for the fruit and the terroir. For winemaking, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place over 25-28 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and ages for 18 months in new French oak before bottling.

Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry and spicy cheese.
