Jean Pierre Moueix (Pomerol) produced this Château Trotanoy, a very good red wine, consisting mainly of Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc from the 2012 vintage.
Taste:
When tasted, the Château Trotanoy 2012 presents a magnificent dark garnet-red color, a complex bouquet that develops into sensual aromas of black fruits, roasted almonds, coffee or liquorice on powerful and elegant tannins. On the nose, a very nice concentrated dark fruit. On the palate, sweet red fruit, dense with richness, velvety tannins, earthy-mineral notes, long finish, typical of Pomerol.
Production:
After manual harvesting, the grapes are selected. Fermentation and maceration took place traditionally at controlled temperatures over 12 to 15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the best wines were selected for the blending of Château Trotanoy 2012 and aged for 15 - 20 months in oak barrels. The aging contributes to the wine's development, gently oxygenates and refines it.
Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry and spicy cheese.
