2022 Rock Angel Rosé Caves d'Esclans

While the renowned Whispering Angel is an undisputed crowd-pleaser from the Maison, the 2022 Rock Angel vintage offers a more diverse flavour profile – a high-quality, rich wine for all rosé lovers.
This bright, mineral wine, which is excellent as an aperitif or with a variety of gourmet dishes, was partially aged in large oak barrels to give it more creaminess. It is made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Rolla (Vermentino) grapes.

Blend and Origin:
Rock Angel is primarily made from Grenache and Rolla grapes from mostly old vines from La Motte in Provence. The grapes are harvested from sunrise to midday, then destemmed and lightly crushed at a low temperature to prevent oxidation. Partial aging in oak gives this wine a creamy note and texture. Its minerality adds another layer of complexity.

Aroma:
Fresh with fine notes of spicy red fruits and roasted aromas

Taste:
Rich, fresh, and intense on the palate, with great length

8-10°C

Recommendation:
We recommend the umami flavour of red meat or shiitake mushrooms, prepared with soy sauce and smoked paprika, to fully bring out the complexity of this wine.
