The rum is created out of respect for and in cooperation with the Danish Frogman Corps, a Danish military elite unit for special operations. Just like the Danish "frogmen," this rum is truly exceptional. With a powerful 60% alcohol content, the rum is, as they say in America, proof. This expression dates back to the 16th century when the alcohol content was tested by pouring a small amount of the spirit over gunpowder. If the gunpowder could still burn, then the spirit was above a proof limit and was rated higher.

Logbook: A.H. Riise and the Danish Fleet
A.H. Riise originally supplied rum to the Royal Danish Navy, which protected Danish territory. Merchant ships sailing to and from the Danish West Indies were also protected from pirate attacks. This function was very similar to how the Frogman Corps is deployed today in global hotspots in the international fight against piracy. Today, there is a strong connection between A.H. Riise Spirits and the Danish Navy: the Frogman Corps Association and A.H.
