Tasting Notes:
Aroma:
Fruity sweet with ripe berries and jam. Accompanied by spices such as allspice and cinnamon.
Taste:
Oily and intense on the tongue. Initially malty sweet with barley sugar, sultanas and coconut. Then spicier with notes of furniture polish, cinnamon and allspice again.
Finish:
Long-lasting with sweet cereal notes, chocolate and strawberries. Accompanied by the impression of wood smoke.
Distillery Info:
The distillery at the foot of the 840 m high Ben Rinnes, whose name it later adopted, was founded in 1826 by Peter Mackenzie.
