BLEND AND ORIGIN:
An exceptional Pinot vintage in an outstanding year. The 2015 season in Champagne was very warm, with low rainfall and plenty of sunshine, resulting in concentrated and structured wines. Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2015 is made from a carefully considered blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, grown in eight historic Grand Cru vineyards. The vineyards – Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Aÿ, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger – are among the most prestigious in the region.
Taste:
On the palate, more complex aromas emerge: dried apricot, hazelnuts, honey, and candied sugar. Silky textures lend the wine personality, elegance, and character. The depth and power developed through maturation.
Color:
A beautiful, golden color with bright pearls.
Aroma:
On the nose, notes of white flowers such as jasmine, honeysuckle, and vine blossom first appear, followed by fruitier nuances of apple, pear, and peach. Some notes of freshly cut almonds and frangipane cream complete the bouquet.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve La Grande Dame 2015 with seasonal, regional, and fresh products, such as a salad with lobster carpaccio, citrus fruits, and pumpkin from the garden, to perfectly highlight its elegance and freshness. Or try it with pea gnocchi with chervil sauce and green apple.
