Melbourne – Australia's city of indulgence. A young and innovative food and bar scene enlivens the city on the southeast coast of the continent. Inspired by it, the Starward Distillery produces a completely new whisky for Australia, which focuses on the enjoyment experience, turns its back on conventions – and simply allows whatever pleases and tastes good. For example, enjoying single malt and co. with a BBQ with friends, with a crime novel on the couch, with pizza or banana bread.

Freed from traditions, the distillery looks at whisky through the eyes of brewers and winemakers. It is produced exclusively from regional ingredients. Besides barley, primarily from only lightly charred or steamed red wine barrels from Australian wineries. Starward Whisky only needs three years in them for its fruity maturation. Responsible for this: the Melbourne climate. Constant weather changes, the so-called "Four seasons in a day" with an average of up to 22.5°C, allow distillates to mature fundamentally – creating a whisky that is unique elsewhere.

Starward is launching two of its genuinely Australian whiskies on the German market. Two-Fold is an uncomplicated, versatile, well-rounded blend. The whisky combines distillates from malted barley, fermented with a darker brewer's yeast for a fruity character, and aromatic wheat. The new makes mature separately in barriques and hogsheads previously used for red wine. Nova is Starward's single malt. The Melbourne distillers around founder David Vitale use the typical darker and somewhat maltier brewing barley of the "Pale Malt" type for Starward as a base. Matured in minimally treated ex-red wine casks, Nova balances complex notes of berries, vanilla and caramel with fine spice.
