2017 Château Pontet-Canet, Pauillac 5th Grand Cru Classé was aged in new oak barrels.
The vintage contains 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot.
TASTING
Aromas of fresh fruit, dark red cherry, plum, pomegranate, licorice, and rose petals characterize this expressive and very nuanced wine.
On the palate, the Pontet-Canet presents itself with a medium body and very fine, incredibly soft tannins, deliciously spicy in the mouth, with wonderful freshness.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve at 16-18 °C with game dishes, beef goulash, red meat, and strong cheeses.
