In contrast to other Bordeaux wines from Saint-Émilion, the Château Bellefont-Belcier 2018 displays a great deal of freshness and lightness. The Cabernet Franc adds good spice and finesse to the red wine. The winery has rightly ascended to the Olympus of Saint-Émilion, designated as a Grand Cru Classé.
Taste:
Dark fruits such as black cherry, blackcurrant, and blackberry give the Grand Cru of Château Bellefont-Belcier 2018 wonderful fruitiness and power. Well-balanced tannins make the Château Bellefont-Belcier 2018 dense and intense on the palate. The typical earthiness and mineral notes
clearly show that this Bordeaux is based on the special soils of Saint-Émilion.
Production:
After manual harvesting, the grapes are selected. Fermentation and maceration were traditionally carried out at controlled temperatures for 12 to 15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the best wines were selected for the blending of Château Bellefont Belcier 2018 and aged for 15 to 20 months in oak barrels. Maturation contributes to the wine's development, gently oxygenating and refining it.
Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry, and strong cheeses.
