Domaine de Chevalier 2019 Red - Pessac Leognan - Dry Red Wine

The red wine from Domaine de Chevalier is a Pessac Leognan, consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the 2019 vintage. Thanks to the exceptional conditions of this year, the Grand Cru Classé Domaine de Chevalier 2019 promises all the characteristics of an extraordinary vintage that will mark the history of the winery.
Stylistically, this wine is much more closely related to the great Domaine de Chevalier of old than much of what was produced here in the early 2000s. It is a masterpiece of what a contemporary Bordeaux is capable of, and is worth the effort to seek out.

Taste:
The Domaine de Chevalier 2019 is a magical wine, exuding aromas of wild plums, crushed blackcurrants and violets in the glass, mingling with hints of pencil shavings, subtle spices and pine forest floor. The wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and seamless, with a vibrant fruit core, wonderfully refined tannins and lively acidity. It is exquisitely elegant and harmonious, ending with a long, fragrant finish.

Production:
Domaine de Chevalier 2019 was produced with the utmost respect for the fruit and the terroir. For winemaking, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place over 21-28 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and matures for 14-16 months in French oak barrels before bottling.

Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry and spicy cheese.
