The Doppio Passo is made from hand-picked, ripe Primitivo grapes in Salento, Apulia. Its impressively intense and full-bodied taste is due to a traditional production process very similar to that of Ripasso di Valpolicella. The special feature of this process is that after the first fermentation, the wine is put back on the skins to ferment a second time. During this "double step" (Italian: doppio passo), the wine extracts colour, aroma and a seductive hint of sweetness from the skins once again. The result is a wonderfully soft, rich and exceptionally nuanced wine of irresistible flavour density. Verdict: "Super delicious!"
