For their globally successful single malts, the ambitious distillers use small-grained and thus sweeter Indian barley from the foothills of the Himalayas, spring water from the mountains, and Scottish peated malt for smoky variants. High above sea level in Bangalore, the spirits mature intensely under tropical conditions (about 3.5 times faster than in Scotland) in mostly Bourbon Barrels, developing into exotic taste experiences.
