For The Octave, Duncan Taylor & Co. gives selected single malts or single grains a several-month sherry finish in the 50-liter Octave casks. Following the motto "smaller casks, bigger whisky," the independent bottler thus achieves particularly refined, balanced flavor profiles. The series with the black label is represented today by a cask-strength Islay Single Malt from Laphroaig, limited to 123 bottles, which was distilled on the whisky island in 2004.
