The Double Cask matures in selected first-fill Bourbon barrels before the up to 12-month finishing in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The perfectly balanced single malt captivates with the aromas of spicy fruits and the tart-fresh note of the Atlantic, enriched with the vanilla and sweetness of Pedro Ximénez.
The classic Campbeltown Malts from the Glen Scotia Distillery were created under the direction of Master Distiller John Peterson.
Original Tasting Notes
Nose: Very sweet. Initially it is all creme caramel, caramelised fruit sugars, wood sugar, toffee and fudge before some apple and peach come through.
Palate: Sweet start and quite fat and though the alcohol gives a little tongue-tingling buzz the result is a good mid-palate weight.
Finish: Deep and dark.
