With a cheese board, after dinner, as a dessert: With Dolce (Italian for "sweet"), the Australian distillery Starward continues its mission for a culinary, relaxed whisky culture. The Single Malt lives up to its name: temptingly dark, it combines juicy wine notes, oak spice, caramelized marshmallows and cola with a Sicilian-inspired sweetness. Inspired? After the whisky made in Melbourne, as is typical for Starward, matured in local red wine casks, the distillers finished it in casks that had contained the Australian version of the Italian dessert wine Marsala.
 
Dolce was created in the context of the Starward Projects. In the distillery's "laboratory program," the innovative Australians have room for experimental ideas and live them out to find aromatic, unique expressions for their Single Malt. For this reason, the juicy-sweet release is limited to a unique 4,800 bottles worldwide.
