DESCRIPTION
Pian di Mezzo DOCG Riserva Amarone della Valpolicella is a dense and very concentrated dry Italian red wine from the Verona Valpolicella region. It is mainly made from the Corvina grape. Amarone is characterized by ripe, powerful aromas. Immediately after harvest, the grapes are air-dried through a process called "Appassimento," which causes them to shrivel into raisins. This concentrates the sugar and flavors in the grapes, resulting in a perfectly balanced and unique wine that is well-suited for aging. A true wine for meditation that satisfies both mind and body and spirit.

DEVELOPMENT
Made from a selection of the best grapes, strictly hand-picked and under careful quality control. The harvest takes place from late September to mid-October. The collected grapes are dried with the high altitude air from the mountains and pressed with a residual moisture content of 40%. The maceration period is 15 days at a temperature below 8ºC, fermentation is 30 days at a temperature below 20ºC. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels. After that, the wine rests for 12 months in stainless steel tanks and another 12 months after bottling.

TASTING NOTES
The Pian di Mezzo Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Riserva is dense and very concentrated. It has a very dark, almost black, deep red color with slight brick tones. The aroma is rich in notes of chocolate, blackberry, and cherry, enriched with spices, green pepper, leather, smoky tones, and nuts. The taste is equally intense and rich; it is a bouquet that emerges from notes of dark chocolate and blackberries. The aftertaste is very pleasant with tones of black cherries and almonds. This is a perfectly balanced and unique wine.

SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve at 13-18 °C with a delicious steak or a game dish and strong cheeses.
