DESCRIPTION
For Bordeaux lovers, the wines from Saint-Julien with their finesse and power hold a special allure, delighting the palate with a unique taste experience. The 2018 2ème Cru Classé from Château Gruaud-Larose is a very concentrated Saint-Julien with impeccable balance. A brilliant wine with long aging potential – the older, the better!
DEVELOPMENT
Made from a selection of the best grapes, rigorously hand-selected by parcel and grape variety.
The 2018 Château Gruaud-Larose, St. Julien 2eme Cru Classé matures in oak barrels.
The vintage contains 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc.
TASTING NOTES
Intense and complex aromas emanate from the glass. In addition to notes of blackberry jam, baked plums, and cassis cream, along with a hint of blueberry, spices, as well as tobacco and licorice, round off the bouquet. On the palate, the attack is spicy, very concentrated, yet velvety in this high fruit concentration. Supple, ripe, voluminous tannins, with aromas of black fruits and spices and a long finish.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve at 16-18 °C with game dishes, beef goulash, red meat, and strong cheeses.
