Marc Perrin is part of the fifth generation of winemakers at the legendary Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and the member of the Perrin family who entered into the partnership with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt sometime around 2012 when the famous couple bought the "Château Miraval" property they had been renting for several years. It was Marc Perrin's personal mission to elevate Miraval Rosé to a new level: "To imagine Muse de Miraval is to penetrate the heart of Miraval. Muse de Miraval is an intense and rare elixir, the quintessence, the soul of Miraval. More than an even more intense Miraval Rosé, it is a reinterpretation of the wine to highlight its noblest aspects by emphasizing what defines the core of Miraval: the grape varieties of Provence and its limestone soil. Such a unique and rare wine demands nothing less than a meticulous presentation, handcrafted by an artist who respects Miraval's philosophy. The choice of magnum was obvious; we consider it the most beautiful bottle." The grapes for the AOC Provence were selected from the estate's two best and oldest parcels. In egg-shaped concrete tanks, the Grenache and Rolle blend developed for most of the 2020 vintage. Separately, a portion of the wine was aged in Demi-Muid wooden barrels (capacity: 600 liters). This significantly gentler influence on the wine's maturation compared to smaller barriques allowed the Muse de Miraval to mature optimally. To also enable optimal bottle aging for the wine, Marc Perrin decided to bottle Muse de Miraval exclusively in a handcrafted magnum bottle with a unique shape, thus celebrating an unmistakable rosé wine.
