Lush fruitiness is the key to the character of GLEN ELGIN. Achieved through a distinct wort, a long fermentation, and slow distillation in the six pot stills, it lends the single malt its weight and enormous complexity. No wonder this whisky has always been a popular component of many classic blends. The aromatic diversity of this 'hidden gem' among Speyside malts is rounded off in our 11-year-old bottling by a 9-month finish in former Sauternes barriques: Citrus fruits, vanilla crescents & floral notes rise to the nose, followed by seductive aromas of ripe apricot, honey sweetness, pastry, spices, and roasted almonds, which caress the palate.
