- Maturation: fresh Bourbon casks (6 years), before 38 casks were selected and married for 2 years in two 6,000-liter Portuguese red wine casks.
- Colour: Very pale in the glass, the colour of white tea.
- Nose: An opening note of intense bonfire smoke, melding with ripe summer stone fruits, peach, plum and cherry. Deep notes of marzipan take center stage, combined with layered maritime notes.
- Palate: The red wine casks bring pepper and spice on the initial taste. Dry, salty peat smoke settles on the palate, but fruit notes of apricot and lemon also find their way through.
- Finish: A long finish that brings a sharp, spicy character from its marriage in Portuguese red wine casks. Stewed, cooked fruit notes give a sweet, jammy profile and a lingering sweetness that the classic Kilchoman smoke balances beautifully.
