THE GREAT SHERRY CASK XPERIENCE: The result of the collaboration between THE CASKHOUND, the SPANISH WHISKY CLUB, and the cask experts from CASKNOLIA impressively demonstrates the full range of flavour nuances that can arise from maturation in different sherry casks.
The base spirit is a single malt whisky from the Spanish distillery LIBER, which was previously matured for 4 years in two large, approximately 30-year-old Pedro Ximenéz sherry casks. The young malt is now concurrently divided into six special quarter casks from CASKNOLIA, which previously contained various sherry types: Moscatel, Oloroso, Palo Cortado, Pedro Ximenéz, Amontillado, and Pajarete. The subsequent maturation in these handcrafted casks lasts at least one year, and the smaller size of the quarter casks guarantees a significantly more intense influence of the respective sherry aromas from the cask on the original distillate.
