Unusually for the Lowlands, Glasgow Distillery also distills Single Malt from peated malt. The Glasgow 1770 Limited Edition Release – Moscatel Finish, for example. The bottling for the German market spent its final maturation in a Hogshead previously used for Moscatel. The sweet wine is made from the sherry grape of the same name and develops a high sugar content. The result at a robust 60.5% vol. Cask Strength: opulent BBQ smoke, tobacco, orange zest, and Szechuan pepper.
