Sancerre "La Louisonne" red

Grape variety: Pinot Noir 100%. Soil: Our small Sancerre red vineyard is planted on "Caillotes" (hard limestone) and "Terres Blanches" (white stones), and the vines are located near the Bué district.

Technical production data: After manual harvesting, the grapes are fully destemmed and sorted a second time on a sorting belt before going into the vat. Fermentation occurs after a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Extraction is achieved by punching down and pumping over throughout the process. Short 15-day maceration time. Half of the wines are then aged in vats and the other half in barrels previously used for 2 or 3 vintages.

Tasting notes: On the nose, the wine shows aromas of red fruits. On the palate, the wine is firm and long, with some light, supple tannins that give the palate a pleasant sensation.

Food and wine pairings: This wine is served at a temperature of 13-14°C. Enjoyed with roasted pigeon or grilled rabbit.

Domaine de Terres Blanches consists of a mosaic of exceptional terroirs, including 15 hectares cultivated in the Sancerre appellation in the communes of Bué en Sancerre and Amigny, with 13.5 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 1.5 hectares of Pinot Noir. The vines in Coteaux du Giennois, averaging 20 years old, are cultivated on plots overlooking the Loire in Bonny and Ousson-sur-Loire, with 13 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 5 hectares of Pinot Noir and Gamay. Finally, 2 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc on Terres Blanches terroir in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation complete the Domaine's parcel.
