The red wine from Château Lafite Rothschild is a Pauillac, consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the 2015 vintage. Demanding like any top Bordeaux, Chateau Lafite has a truly aristocratic personality. It developed its very special bouquet of cedar, almond, and violet, with a hint of minerals, supported by tannins of the highest elegance, which give the whole balance and exceptional smoothness.
Taste:
The 2015 Château Lafite Rothschild has a very deep purple-red color. The nose is subtle and refined with profound notes of cedar wood with a vibrant core of black raspberries, red currants, and crushed plums, as well as a hint of violets. Medium-bodied and elegantly styled with wonderful freshness and depth, it is convincingly earthy/mineral on the palate with a framework of seductively silky but very firm tannins, culminating in a very long, racy and pure finish.
Production:
Château Lafite Rothschild was produced with the greatest respect for the fruit and the terroir. For winemaking, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place over 21-28 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and matures for 20 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry, and spicy cheese.
