Bright garnet red wine with a dark orange shimmer. On the nose, the wine has an intense, complex bouquet of scents: cherries, spices, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, leather, violets. On the palate, the wine is dry, warm, well-balanced, robust, deliciously red, ripe fruit, soft tannins, and a long-lasting finish.
 
The grapes for this Cru Barolo come from the Sorì Baudana vineyard in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. It is the most classic Barolo of the Langhe.
 
The vines were planted in the late 1980s on the southwest-facing slope of the Serralunga DOCG. The vineyard is pruned and harvested by hand only. Throughout the year, the vines are thinned and pruned several times to ensure that a beautiful, healthy bunch of approximately 1 kg can be harvested at the end of the season.
 
From the second half of October, the grapes are hand-picked after careful selection. After harvesting, the grapes are gently crushed at the winery and fermented for 25 days at a controlled temperature in large steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine matures for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and is then bottled. In the bottle, the wine matures for at least 12 months in the cellars of the estate.
 
Barolos from the Serralunga area are generally somewhat more powerful than Barolos from, for example, La Morra. The Barolos from La Morra are somewhat more elegant and refined. The Barolos from Serralunga can usually also age a little longer.
