The soils of Château Pédesclaux are composed of gravel on clayey subsoils, half of which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% with Merlot, and the remainder with Cabernet Franc and sometimes a small percentage with Petit Verdot.
Since 2010, the objective of returning to a high standard and a quality worthy of its early years has been more than achieved. Château Pédesclaux is now considered a balanced, generous, and complex Pauillac. Its color is a beautiful ruby red; its nose and palate reveal aromas of blackberries, mint, and hints of licorice, to which notes of toasted hazelnuts and rhubarb are added. It is considered a gourmet wine with firm and dense tannins. Today, it is one of the Grands Crus with high potential and a very interesting price-quality ratio.
